Single mode couplers:
FONT's Single mode couplers split light from one fiber into two or combine light from two fibers onto one fiber with minimum loss. This feature of single mode couplers, which allows for duplex transmission on single fiber, is highly desirable in fiber optic network maintenance, administration and testing. FONT manufactures three types of single mode couplers namely; narrow band couplers with 30nm bandwidth, wavelength flattened couplers with 80nm bandwidth and wavelength independent couplers with 280nm bandwidth.  Fig.1 depicts a typical spectral response of FONT's narrow band  couplers within 1300nm - 1800nm.

Tap couplers:
FONT's tap couplers are extremely important in accessing the signal without altering the state of polarization of the signal. FONT's standard, wideband and wavelength flattened tap couplers are available in 1% to 5% coupling ratios with Polarization Dependent Losses (PDL) as low as 0.05dB.

Custom designed single mode couplers:
FONT also manufactures custom wavelength Single Mode Couplers operating within 900nm to 1625nm range with minimum loss. Coupling ratios within 10/90 to 50/50 are available.

While Single mode couplers are essential to the operation of fiber optic-based telecommunication networks, cable TV and Local Area Networks (LANs), they are also widely used in sensor technology, robotics technology and laboratory test and measurements. FONT's single mode couplers are available in variety of package styles.
